Windows: How frustrating is this one? Especially if you live in a multi-unit building that is several stories high. Did you know they now have robots that can clean windows? It is on a remote control system, so that makes it much safer. The prices vary greatly, and you will probably have to talk to the management about getting one of those, but they are available. Check around the web.
To remove smoke odors, set out a cup of vinegar. That helps to absorb the smoke. After a day or two, if you still smell the smoke, redo.
You can also open a few boxes of baking soda. It absorbs the smells in the air, leaving a natural scent.
Did you know that you can put a sponge in the microwave? Put it in for about 20 seconds. It will destroy the bacteria that is left behind. Be careful not to pick it up right away, it may be really hot. Let it sit for a couple of minutes, then remove from microwave.

Paid cleaning help can be a wonderful short-cut to a clean and organized home–if the household budget can stand the cost.
Don’t quit until the job is done.
Start on the same day every week. If Monday is the best time for you, then do it every Monday.
Put on music that has a good beat, and if you find yourself moving faster, you will clean better.
Use a cleaning uniform. When you are in that mode, your mind will follow. Create one or two uniforms just for the purpose of cleaning your house, and always wear those when deep cleaning.
Always praise yourself for a job well done.
